1. Search Terms
The search term is the "What" of your search.

Search location is the "Where" you want to perform your search?
Where are you looking?

Search by Name
Do you know the name of the business you are searching for and want to find it fast?
- Input the business name in the search box
- Check the search by name only box
- Click on the search button

Use descriptive search terms
Looking for a romantic restaurant?
- Rather than typing in "restaurant", try "romantic Italian restaurant" to get better results.

Search within a Category
Looking for a romantic restaurant?
- From the restaurant tab input romantic into the search box
- Check the Search only in Restaurants box
- Click on the search button

| Changing locations |

How do I change my location?
There are several ways to change your location:

- Direct Input
- Type in your desired location, New York, NY in the address field.
- Click "Search"
|
|
 |

Browse locations
- Scroll to the Bottom of the page and click on the link "Other Cities"
- Select a city from the popular city list or select a state to locate your desired city name

If you want to perform a search in New York, and your location is set to Los Angeles, CA?
- Type in your search term in the search box
- Type in your desired location, New York, NY in the address field.
- Click the search button

| Neighborhood Search |
|
How do I search by Neighborhood?
- Type in your search term in the search box
- Click on the Neighborhood link (Neighborhoods are only available in cities where we have defined neighborhoods)
- Select your desired neighborhood
- Click the search button

| My Locations |

What is "My Locations"
My locations is a drop down box that contains 2 types of location information
- My Locations - My Locations is a set of saved locations. The saved location feature is for registered users which allow the user to save locations to their account for future use. To find out more click here
- Recent Locations - Recent locations are automatically saved per session.

| Add/edit Locations |
|
Once you have registered and become a Citysearch member, you can enjoy quick and easy access to your favorite search locations by saving them to your My Citysearch account. To save a new location:
- Select Saved Locations from the Change Neighborhood pull-down menu.
- Select Add/Edit Locations from the Saved Locations pull-down menu.

Once on the add/edit locations page you can easily name and save multiple addresses. You can find restaurants near work, dry cleaners near home, and bars in the hip neighborhood.
- Enter the address, city, state, and/or zip code on the add/edit locations screen.
- Click Save

| Setting a Default Location |

Want us to remember your favorite location?
Citysearch will always begin searches from the location that you select as "default."
|

 |
|
- Check the box next to "Make My Default Location" when you add or edit your most frequently used location.

"Where is the nearest dry cleaner?"
Sort by Location
Citysearch will always begin searches from the location that you select as "default."
- Click on Location to rearrange the result based on the location the search was performed.
Search tip: For more accurate distance calculations input a specific street address into the address box.

|
"I want to find a nail salon that gives the best manicures?"
Click on "Best of" to sort the results by their rating.

| Refining Results |
|
|
By selecting a subcategory, fewer results will be displayed. For example, if you select restaurants, you will be able to narrow your results by choosing a specific cuisine and/or a price.
